Les saintsSainte AntoinetteElle était originaire de Brescia et c’est dans le monastère des dominicaines de cette ville du nord de l’Italie qu’elle passa trente années de sa vie, comme religieuse puis comme prieure. Nommée à Ferrare pour réformer le monastère dominicain de cette ville, elle dit à ses religieuses en arrivant : « Mes soeurs, c’est dans l’espoir d’avoir part à vos mérites et à vos prières, et non pour entretenir votre confort et votre oisiveté que les gens du monde vous font l’aumône. » Les soeurs, qui l’avaient oublié, se convertirent. Elle mourut centenaire dans l’humilité et une confiance profonde en la miséricorde de Dieu. |
